Large-scale demolition project at St Catherine’s Primary School, Toorak

St Catherine’s Primary School is a prestigious private school located in Toorak. Strategic Demolition was contracted to demolish the existing 3 storey brick Junior School Building. During this large-scale demolition project in Toorak our team were faced with multiple challenges; restricted access, existing features to remain, including a 100 year old Elm Tree and a handmade playground, Asbestos and hazardous materials and noise restrictions.

Strategic Demolition used large Excavators with pulveriser attachments to help demolish the concrete structure of the building, including suspended slabs, steel roof structure, concrete columns and piers. We were successful in demolishing the entire building structure, including footings ahead of project schedule. All materials were separated to achieve a 90% recycle rate.
